History

Pile Drivers, Bridge, Dock and Wharf Builders Local 2404 were granted its charter from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America on March 10, 1920.

There were three Pile Drivers Locals in British Columbia until the early 1970s when Victoria Local 2415 was merged into Local 2404. In 1998 Prince Rupert Local 1549 was merged into Local 2404 creating one province wide local allowing the free movement of members throughout British Columbia.

Effective June 1, 2009 UBCJA General President McCarron directed the jurisdiction of pile driving work performed within the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba and the Territories; i.e. Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut, be vested in Local Union 2404.
